Sandgate Theatre openned in 1958, making 2008 our 50th anniversary, and what a party we have planned. To top off the year, a grand celebration of 50 years of theatre at Sandgate. Planned are a large public promotion with reviews across the 50 years, including assistance from our original cast members.
The Sandgate Theatre Company celebrates 50 years of performing live theatre for the Northeast Brisbane community this year. The public is invited to join the present and past members of the company at on Sunday, November 23 from 2PM till 6PM for a free birthday party. It is an opportunity for those who appreciate and support live theatre to meet with and talk to those who produce it.
The original members are returning to Sandgate to perform a montage of previous shows including song, dance and drama. Some of the memorabilia of the last 50 years will be on display. Past members are encouraged to bring in any items of interest they may have been storing over the years.

Leading up to the big Sunday celebration the company is reenacting the first play ever produced in Sandgate. The play is called Love’s A Luxury and is a very funny British Farce.
